I made this recipe for the first time a few weeks ago. Upon pulling it out of the oven, I didn’t think it looked very appetizing. But after letting it cool and testing it among a small crowd I soon realized that it was a hit! I altered the recipe this time around and added cool whip, cinnamon, and apple slices on top. The apples are from Smit Orchards and are sold at my neighborhood farmer’s market. They’re not overly sweet or crispy and the perfect touch to this warm, delicious cake.
